"Lay Lady Lay" was written by Bob Dylan and originally intended for the soundtrack of the Academy Award winning film "Midnight Cowboy" starring Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight, but Dylan didn't submit his recording in time. Nevertheless, the song went to #7 on the charts during the summer of 1969.

"Apache" was composed by guitarist Jerry Lordan who was inspired to write it by the 1954 film of the same name. The British instrumental group The Shadows were touring with Jerry when he played it for them, and ultimately they recorded this version which was a big hit in the U.K, during the summer months of 1960. A few months after the release of this recording, Jorgen Ingmann covered the song and took it to #2 in the U.S. in February of 1961. Today this song is considered one of the greatest guitar tracks ever recorded.

A sickle of moon is caught
in the branches of cottonwoods
